Nitrile Latex Material is an emulsion made of nitrile rubber (NBR), mainly copolymerized with butadiene and acrylonitrile. It is a synthetic rubber with a variety of excellent properties and is suitable for a variety of industrial and consumer applications.
As a leading supplier of nitrile latex, Hongray offers high-quality materials that serve as the foundation for superior disposable gloves. Our nitrile latex is a carboxylated butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer, known for its medium acrylonitrile content, which contributes to its exceptional properties.
- Oil resistance: Nitrile latex has excellent resistance to petroleum-based oils and a variety of solvents, and is particularly suitable for environments that require oil resistance.
- Heat resistance: The material can be used for a long time in an environment up to 120°C, and can even withstand hot oil up to 150°C.
- Mechanical properties: The physical properties of nitrile latex can be improved by adding reinforcing agents (such as carbon black) to enhance its strength and wear resistance.
- Air tightness: Compared with other types of rubber, nitrile latex provides good air tightness and is suitable for sealing applications.
- Electrical insulation: Although its electrical insulation performance is poor, it can still play a role in some applications and belongs to semiconductor rubber.
Low Modulus: Ensures flexibility and comfort, reducing hand fatigue during extended use.
Excellent Tensile Strength: Provides durability and resistance to tearing, ensuring reliable protection.
Chemical Resistance: Offers superior resistance to oils, greases, and various chemicals, making it suitable for diverse applications.
Puncture Resistance: Enhances safety by minimizing the risk of punctures, crucial for medical and industrial environments.
Mechanical Stability: Maintains integrity under mechanical stress, ensuring consistent performance.
FDA Compliance: Meets FDA 21CFR 177.2600 standards, ensuring safety and quality for food contact applications.
- Medical supplies: Widely used in the manufacture of medical gloves, protective clothing and other products.
- Automotive industry: used to make seals, gaskets and other oil-resistant parts.
- Industrial use: used as protective and sealing materials in industries such as chemical and food processing.
1. Chemical structure:
- Nitrile rubber is a copolymer formed by emulsion polymerization of butadiene and acrylonitrile. The presence of acrylonitrile groups makes NBR have good stability to non-polar oils, especially to chemicals such as mineral oil, vegetable oil and liquid fuel.
- The content of acrylonitrile directly affects its oil resistance. The higher the content, the better the oil resistance, but at the same time the cold resistance will decrease.
2. Physical properties:
- Nitrile rubber has high tensile strength, heat resistance and air tightness. It can be used for a long time in air at 120℃ or in oil at 150℃, showing good thermal stability.
- Its glass transition temperature and brittle temperature change with the acrylonitrile content. For example, NBR with an acrylonitrile content of 40% has a glass transition temperature of -22℃, while that of 26% is -52℃.
1. The role of polar groups:
- The cyano (-CN) polar group in nitrile rubber interacts with non-polar or weakly polar oil molecules, which enhances the material's resistance to oil.
2. Improved formulation and processing technology:
- In recent years, by optimizing the formulation of nitrile rubber, such as adding silsesquioxane as a fuel resistance functional agent and using a diversified vulcanization system, its fuel resistance can be further improved. These technical improvements enable the new nitrile rubber to maintain good performance in low temperature environments while reducing the volume change rate in fuel.
3. Application examples:
- Modern nitrile rubber products such as O-rings, oil seals and various seals have become indispensable materials in automobiles and industrial equipment due to their excellent oil resistance.
